The semi-precious stone, Unakite, is composed primarily of iron, aluminum, and calcium silicate. Monoclinic is a crystalline system of Unakite stone. It can be polished to be used in various jewelry forms. The name “Unakite” originates from where it was first found, the Unaka mountain range of Western North Carolina which is located in the United States. Commonly, it has also been collected or mined in Virginia, Blue Ridge province, and Eastern Tennessee.
